Welcome to the first issue of Freelite™ InSite, an e-newsletter to help you stay fully aware of the status of serum free light chain testing for diagnosis and monitoring of Multiple Myeloma. Four times a year we will review the latest publications and conferences and include articles aimed at discussing key areas of clinical relevance.

In this first issue you will find an interview with Dr Robert Kyle, discussing how the Mayo Clinic uses the Freelite serum free light chain assay.

I will be very happy to hear from you on what you would like included to help make this an even more valuable source of information for you.

Kind regards

‘Free light chains (FLCs) can result in a diversity of renal injuries in patients with plasma cell dyscrasias. Freelite provides a sensitive and rapid way of identifying monoclonal FLCs in patients presenting with acute or chronic renal impairment. A great advantage is the ability to identify FLCs in the serum removing the dependency on urine samples. The ease of measurement of serum FLCs with Freelite has been influential in allowing our ongoing research into treatment strategies for patients with cast nephropathy.’
